Carved Whitby jet and ebony beads, to include five ebony beads, two polished jet beads and three carved jet beads. The carvings include two beads of weeping willows and a third with shamrocks/clover to one side and a flower to the other.


Currently attached to a slightly elastic cord, these beads could be re-strung to form a fantastic bracelet, or a selection of the beads could be formed into statement bracelets, earrings or pendants.

The jet beads are drilled centrally, slightly off-round/barrel shape.
The ebony beads are approximately spherical and are drilled off-centre ‍ ‍

Unmarked.‍ ‍

Circa 1870-1890.‍ ‍

Dimensions:
Floral-carved jet bead approximate width 24mm.
Willow tree-carved jet beads approximate widths 23 and 24mm.
The polished jet beads have widths of approximately 21.5 and 22.3mm.
The ebony beads are very slightly graduated with a width between 17.8 to 18.7mm.‍ ‍

Condition:
Slight signs of minor wear.
Ebony shows wear to black finish, wood grain visible.
